The only advantage of halogen apart from obvious cost, is the reduction in fatigue over long stretches. I agree with Gables Ninja: non-OEM LED lighting on the N300 is difficult with current technologies and the bike's design - and HID seems to be on its way out due to cost and complexity. Cooler temperature light can be more fatiguing, but HIDs (and LEDs) are going to be brighter and whiter. However a HID projector retrofit is certainly the gold standard when it comes to illumination.Īnyway, I'm sure you'll encounter people who have had good experiences with LED bulbs or can recommend what they've installed, but in any case don't go with any fanless model. And I don't regret it considering the saved effort, money and time. Saw couple of posts in which people have upgraded to HIDs and had to order additional bulb spacers etc. Especially on a bike like this that doesn't allow easy replacement of headlight bulbs. I am planning to change it with an LED bulb kit. They are either junk, or they will last very little - in either case they aren't worth your time. You shouldn't go with the fanless versions. They're less powerful then HIDs (and frequently give less optimal light then the halogens they replace), and include a lot of issues like this. It's part of the reason why I refuse to install the current iteration of non-OEM LED headlight bulbs.
